Can you still get a pizza sauce stain out of a white shirt after washing it in a cold wash, but not drying it?

Most likely. Apply shampoo (I use the cheapest I can find, usually Suave) or dishwashing detergent (like Dawn, not dishwasher detergent) to the area, hold for several hours, rewash. You may need some peroxygen or perborate bleach (like Clorox 2 or Snowy or Oxyclean) if it doesn't all come out in the second wash.

The orangey stain from tomato products is a mixture of carotenoids, pigments that are not water soluble, but dissolve quite nicely in non-polar substances like fats, or with a good detergent. Can you still get a pizza sauce stain out of a white shirt after washing it in a cold wash, but not drying it?
Kay is spot on! She forgot to say that behind the tomato and its pigment is the grease from the pizza. That is what is holding some of the stain in. Dishwashing liquid or shampoo may do it but, if not, and BEFORE bleaching, try some 409 or any household grease cutter. Let it sit on the stain and work it in then rewash and continue with Kay's advice.
Hi..i would try hand cleaner like the mechanics use. It is cheap and can be bought at Walmart or Canadian tire. Rub it on, let sit for a half hour, then wash as usual. I use it for all kinds of stains. i washed a quilted baby blanket with grease on it (from my sewing machine) using a pre soak spray. it did not come out so i got out my hand cleaner, put it on and washed it after a half hour and it was spotless when it was done.
You'll need to ';Shout , Shout get it all out. these are the stains we've been telling you about'; LOL (from the song) try treating it with shout, then washing it again and repeating the process until the stain is out. Do not dry until the stain is out.
So long as it hasn't been dried, you can try again - once it's dry, it's ';set for life';..
you need to put clorox on it to remove the stain, and then put it in a wash cycle.
yah, tomatoes are evil that way, and white clothing is flirting with disaster
