How to remove detergent/washing powder that stained my shirt?

I used Ariel washing powder to wash a shirt, and one of the little blue particles stained my shirt. How to remove it??How to remove detergent/washing powder that stained my shirt?
The stain will probably wash out after a few washings.

Try adding Oxiclean to your washes.

Also, if the shirt can tolerate hot water, use the Hot water setting to wash it.How to remove detergent/washing powder that stained my shirt?
Pretreat it with this lovely product called folex. Cleans everything from carpets to clothes. They sell it at lowes for $2.50ish? Pretty cheap and does wonders.
Hey Ariel dose not leave any stain on cloth. May be it is something else stain.

Try dry clean for that.

Can you still get a pizza sauce stain out of a white shirt after washing it in a cold wash, but not drying it?

Spray and WashCan you still get a pizza sauce stain out of a white shirt after washing it in a cold wash, but not drying it?
Most likely. Apply shampoo (I use the cheapest I can find, usually Suave) or dishwashing detergent (like Dawn, not dishwasher detergent) to the area, hold for several hours, rewash. You may need some peroxygen or perborate bleach (like Clorox 2 or Snowy or Oxyclean) if it doesn't all come out in the second wash.

The orangey stain from tomato products is a mixture of carotenoids, pigments that are not water soluble, but dissolve quite nicely in non-polar substances like fats, or with a good detergent. Can you still get a pizza sauce stain out of a white shirt after washing it in a cold wash, but not drying it?
Kay is spot on! She forgot to say that behind the tomato and its pigment is the grease from the pizza. That is what is holding some of the stain in. Dishwashing liquid or shampoo may do it but, if not, and BEFORE bleaching, try some 409 or any household grease cutter. Let it sit on the stain and work it in then rewash and continue with Kay's advice.
Hi..i would try hand cleaner like the mechanics use. It is cheap and can be bought at Walmart or Canadian tire. Rub it on, let sit for a half hour, then wash as usual. I use it for all kinds of stains. i washed a quilted baby blanket with grease on it (from my sewing machine) using a pre soak spray. it did not come out so i got out my hand cleaner, put it on and washed it after a half hour and it was spotless when it was done.
You'll need to ';Shout , Shout get it all out. these are the stains we've been telling you about'; LOL (from the song) try treating it with shout, then washing it again and repeating the process until the stain is out. Do not dry until the stain is out.
So long as it hasn't been dried, you can try again - once it's dry, it's ';set for life';..
you need to put clorox on it to remove the stain, and then put it in a wash cycle.
yah, tomatoes are evil that way, and white clothing is flirting with disaster

How much is it to have your Deck Power Washed and Stained?

The price you pay will vary depending on variables such as where you live, how big the deck is and other items. If I were you I would contact a few contractors or handymen in your area.

I would suggest that the cost to clean the deck will be in the range of .40-.55 cents and the cost for staining will likely be in the .75-.85 cent range. The cost of the stain you select will likely affect the cost. Make sure the wood is good and dry before the staining. Can anyone (!!!!!!!) let me know how to get rid of grease stains from clothes that have been washed?

I have tried Vanish etc but the grease spots (from cooking) is still in the material!! HELPCan anyone (!!!!!!!) let me know how to get rid of grease stains from clothes that have been washed?
It will be difficult especially when it has been dried.

    Try this:

    Get Grease Lightning

    and spray on spots.

Let it soak for several minutes and then rub with Dawn dishwashing liquid and hot water.

Let it soak again, and then rinse.

Air dry/line dry, (do not put in the dryer) and see if it is gone.

You may need to do this several times until it comes out.

Grease Lightning has gotten many of our stains out even when it has been dried in.

:-)Can anyone (!!!!!!!) let me know how to get rid of grease stains from clothes that have been washed?
I don't think anyone has suggested this yet, go get some greaseproof paper, lay it on the stain then iron over it with a hot iron, it should soak up any residue grease. Then apply some stain remover before placing in the washing machine and wash as normal.

    Good Luck x
Warm water on the spot, baking soda sprinkled thereon, and an old toothbrush (or fabric against fabric scrubbing motion).

    warm water+baking soda+grease=soap :-)

Baking soda sprinkled on a warm wet cloth or sponge also cleans the greasy stove top like magic.

Rinse with cold water+white vinegar to release soap residue from first wash.

    In Joy!
Hi! Rub dish soap into the stain, then rewash. May have to be done 2 or 3 times. I do this all the time and it always works for me. Good luck! p.s. dishsoap cuts grease.
it might be too late now, but fairy liquid put direct on to the stain asap after the spill and then washed quickly is a good remedy - but now it has dried maybe not! probably not much help really.
Well soak them for 20 minutes and let them sit in the sink with very hot water and color safe bleach.
if you can get OxyClean, try soaking them overnight with that.

How do I get chewing gum out of a nylon dry-weave shirt? Not a new stain... I washed it a couple of times.?

My hubby recently washed a shirt and forgot to remove the gum in his pocket. This is a Nike dry weave shirt and the gum is ground in. Any advise? How do I get chewing gum out of a nylon dry-weave shirt? Not a new stain... I washed it a couple of times.?
Get hold of some WD40 and spray liberally on the chewing gum. Make sure you do this while the garment is on a non porous surface that won't be damaged.

Spray enough on until the fabric is visibly ';wet';. Leave it for a few minutes and the gum will scrub off with a dry cloth. Remove as much as you can and then repeat.

The WD40 shouldn't leave a stain but it may smell slightly. This can be removed by washing.

It might be advisable to test on a hidden area in case it damages the fabric. This should not happen as I have used this on a wool/polyester dinner jacket with no problems. How do I get chewing gum out of a nylon dry-weave shirt? Not a new stain... I washed it a couple of times.?

Why is our washing machine/dryer staining our clothes with grease?

I've been washing clothes and getting ready for school lately, but every time I take my clothes out of the dryer they're coated in Grease stains. Little dot shaped grease stains splattered all over, the machines have never done this before. Can you tell me what is wrong, how to fix it, and if it has anything at all to do with a container of chap stick that got washed and dried recently? Why is our washing machine/dryer staining our clothes with grease?
I had the exact problem with the grease. I don't think it is from the chapstick. My washer was old and not only did I get grease spots on my clothes but I got rust spots also. I tried cleaning it with bleach and all kinds of products but it did not help. I bought a new machine and the grease and rust are gone. Why is our washing machine/dryer staining our clothes with grease?
get some really hot water and bleach

clean the **** out of the inside of both

the washer take the spinner apart it comes off

    just dont break it

the dryer make sure to clean the lent screen

with hot water to after that

rinse it with the hottest water you can stand

let the washer go threw a few washes with hot water a bleach too. that will help if not eliminate your problem
it probally from the chap stick... must be in the machine still.. try to clean it out if you can... or wash some things like towels that you dont care about so it will clean itself out of the machine..
Try running the washing machine on hot with half a cup of bleach and soap powder with nothing in it but that. For the dryer try cleaning it out with a really good household cleaner like an all purpose cleaner with something specifically made to clean stuck on grease. As for the stains a good stain remover like spray and wash should take care of it. Good Luck.
I had this problem recently i found it wasnt my dryer but my washing machine. You need to call an engineer out to get it fixed, you might find its something to do with the door seal/bearings, i cant exactly remember what it was. dont know how much is costs to get it fixed either as mine had an extended warrenty.

    Hope this helps
Maybe it's broken.Call a a person who can fix washing machines.Or maybe the machine is dirty and needs cleaning.
You 'hit the nail on the head' for the 'source' of your grease stains ... you may have to ask your parents to call a 'repair man' to see if s/he knows how to get that 'greasy oil' our of your machines ... also to make them 'aware' that you 'screwed up bigtime' and washed the 'chap stick.' After this 'double check' your pockets before you wash and dry your clothes.
I think you may have some bad slides...the drum that the clothes tumble in is driven on one end and on the door end are two or three inexpensive slides. It could have something to do with the chap stick especially if it melted and soaked up into the pads the tumbler glides on. If you wipe out the dryer when hot and the grease comes back that may be it. I called my friend the Maytag Repairman and he ordered some up pronto...here's a link about the part I'm referring to. Other brands also have slides, or glides...
you answered your own question .The chap stick has mineral oil and wax in it so you washed it than dried it and the wax and mineral oil have melted into your dryer and each time you launder things it spreads it all over your clothes
it probly was the chapstick . it will have washed out the washing machine by now so must be in the dryer . put some old towels or sheets in it and put it on hot for a long time . keep repeating till its all melted away and you have clean stuff coming out . might work , if not you will have to fess up and get it mended . good luck . ps , empty the dust trap each time in case it gets in there

Why is it not advisable to wash hands with soap after it has been stained by concentrated nitric acid?

Are you a chemists? maybe you can answer this...

its for our latest activity in chem lab...thanks!Why is it not advisable to wash hands with soap after it has been stained by concentrated nitric acid?
It's advised to rinse your hands with soap and water if you come in contact with concentrated nitric acid. You'd be in a lot of pain, as nitric acid is extremely corrosive and would react to the moisture in skin.

There could be the implied idea that washing your hands with glycerin soap would make nitroglycerin and blow you up, but making nitroglycerin is a little bit more complicated than that. Why is it not advisable to wash hands with soap after it has been stained by concentrated nitric acid?
I'm not a chemist but I thought Nitric acid was one of the stronger ones. Likely there is something in the chemistry of soap (check out the chemical formulation of soaps) that will react with the residue and create more problems. Check out treatment procedures for acid burns in the meds library.

What is causing stains on colored shirts in the washing machine?

no bleaches usedWhat is causing stains on colored shirts in the washing machine?
It depends on what kind of stain it is. If you have an older machine, it may be rust stains because the finish came off the basket and now it is rusting. This would make small orangy-brown spots on your clothes. I don't know what you do about that except buy a new washer.

Why do crayon companies say treating wax stains on clothes by putting dishwashing liquid then washing it?

how does the treatment workWhy do crayon companies say treating wax stains on clothes by putting dishwashing liquid then washing it?
Because dish washing liquid is a enzyme and it usually works on many stains. But I found that if you scrape as much as possible off first, then get you iron and heat to warm not hot. Take a piece of paper towel and fold it, put it under the stain and put a single piece on top of the stain, and iron gently, that will heat the wax and remove it, make sure each time you change the paper towel so as not to get stains anywhere else. it works, Then wash it with your dish washing liquid. Why do crayon companies say treating wax stains on clothes by putting dishwashing liquid then washing it?
It cuts through the wax...think about it!
Dishwashing detergent, among other things, breaks down the grease and oil that you see on a lot of dirty dishes. So it would work on crayon too, given that a lot of crayons have an oil-type base.
About 25 years ago the Fed. gov't removed all phosphates from detergents because of water pollution. The dishwasher companies said their products wouldn't work without them. The Feds said OK. That's why the detergent works so well

I wouldn't ever use that on my clothes but I guess you could test it on a piece underneath by the hem to make sure it doesn't ruin the color. Instead you could take your laundry detergent and a toothbrush and rub the detergent into the stain and let it sit for 15 or 20 minutes and then wash it. That works really well for me! Also if you have any Oxyclean around the house read the laundering instructions and use that for your stains. It is literally a miracle cleaner! Good luck!

Glothes come out of the washing machine stained?

My clothes come out of the washing machine stained with a soapy kind of substance. Any idea why? I need to wash my clothes over and over for these stains to come off....Glothes come out of the washing machine stained?
You are adding too much detergent or adding the detergent to the top of the clothes instead of adding the detergent first you see detergent can add an oily film to clothes which makes them come out stained looking and can cause black spots on them especially the all color bleach detergents they are the culprits first you should start out with a good clean washer tub and you can do this by cleaning it with White Vinegar add one cup of White Vinegar to the washer without clothes added and no detergent select full cycle and add hot water warm or cool rinse or use this solution to clean your washer;Clean your washing machine

An easy way to periodically clean out soap scum and disinfect your clothes washer is to pour in 2 cups vinegar, then run the machine through a full cycle without any clothes or detergent. If your washer is particularly dirty, fill it with very hot water, add 2 gallons (7.5 liters) vinegar, and let the agitator run for 8-10 minutes. Turn off the washer and let the solution stand overnight. In the morning, empty the basin and run your washer through a complete cycle. To clean off the detergent residues from your clothes from your cotton-blend clothing by patting the spot with a cloth or towel moistened with undiluted white vinegar just before placing it in the wash. For large stains, you may want to soak the garment overnight in a solution of 3 parts vinegar to 1 part cold water before washing.

    Brighten your loads

Why waste money on that costly all-color bleach when you can get the same results using vinegar? Just add 1/2 cup white vinegar to your machine's wash cycle to brighten up the colors in each load.

Soften fabrics, kill bacteria, eliminate static, and more

There are so many benefits to be reaped by adding 1 cup white vinegar to your washer's rinse cycle that it's surprising that you don't find it prominently mentioned inside the owner's manual of every washing machine sold. Here are the main ones:

A single cup of vinegar will kill off any bacteria that may be present in your wash load, especially if it includes cloth diapers and the like.

A cup of vinegar will keep your clothes coming out of the wash soft and smelling fresh -- so you can kiss your fabric-softening liquids and sheets good-bye (unless, of course, you happen to like your clothes smelling of heavy perfumes).

A cup of vinegar will brighten small loads of white clothes.

Added to the last rinse, a cup of vinegar will keep your clothes lint- and static-free.

It is possible you need a water softener, but try using liquid detergent and see if it dissolves better. Put it in the washer while the water is running and before you put the clothes in.
sounds like you have ';hard'; water.

Hard water does not clean well or rinse well.

You may need a water softener for the house water supply

A good grease stain remover that I use is dishwashing liquid. Put some dish soap onto each stain, saturating the stain, and then rub it into the fabric. Do not rinse. Let sit for about a minute. Then just toss into the washing machine and let it wash as normal.

If you have Shout or Spray and Wash, those work too.I accidently washed my clothes with a chapstick and now there are grease stains all over them?

I'm a carpenter and also work in building maintenance. You'll not shift any stains from fascia or soffit eaves by power washing. The best thing is to go to a builders suppliers or get the golden pages out and look for building chemicals/cleaning products. There is an acid that my old employer used to remove concrete %26amp; plaster stains from new windows and frames. How did sin come back if it was washed away in the Great Flood, did god leave a few stains?

    Sure did.

He used the generic laundry detergent, and wouldn't you know, it left sin and grass stains from soccer practice.

It was the last time he used ';Holy Tide';.How did sin come back if it was washed away in the Great Flood, did god leave a few stains?
Sin doesn't work like that. The reason for the great flood was to kill the corrupt and brutal people. If God wanted to wipe sin out for good then He would had to have killed all humans including Noah and his family.

All humans are born sinful. All humans are infected with sin.How did sin come back if it was washed away in the Great Flood, did god leave a few stains?
Noah and his family came from Adam and were still sinners. Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

The only was to get your sins washed away is to put your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and what He did for you on the cross. He died for your sins, He was buried and took your sins away and He rose again the third day for your justification. Romans 4: 24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Romans 4: 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Who said sin was ';washed away';? It is my understanding and I'd thought by many that the flood was to destroy the giants that the sons of God begot when they had sex with human women, read Genesis ch. 6. (Legends such as Beowulf, ect.) Humans will always sin, and always have, and God promised to never flood the earth again. That's doesn't mean the sin was washed away, Noah was javored by God because he obeyed Him and had a relationship with Him, which shows Gods mercy, for God was sorry He had even created mankind, yet allowed us to repopulate the earth because of one man who obeyed Him, when He could have just exterminated us....Thanks be to the Lord!
Abraham had a nephew Lot who lived in Sodom. Lot's daughters committed sin by getting their father drunk and having sex with him so they can get pregnant. Their offspring became nations that opposed God. So, obviously, the force of evil can't be washed away.
Yep - as long as you have that many people, and that many animals locked up on a boat for more than a month - sin is going to creep back into the world.

    Who's your daaaady??
NO, the Bible even says that was NOT the purpose.

It was sheer punishment. If it were to get rid of sin, EVERYBODY would have gone. That would have done it, no ?
Evryone sins just some more than others, God washed away those who were sinning to a max but how i said EVERYONE SINS this doesnt exclude the people who where saved in the ark
satan is alive, god gave him permission to live until the day of judgement. because this world is a test to see who really believes and who doesnt
The global Flood accomplished everything that God wanted it to accomplish.
because people what to do whatever they want and not like to be told what to do people are born sinners satan is tempting people still
that flood was great but its still not up to us to judge anything even god
Sin came back because God saved 8 humans on board the Ark.

The flood did not wash sin away.
Where did you get your biblical education?
Why do you think the Flood washed away sin?

I have washed a red T-shirt which colour bled all over my other clothing. How can I get the stains out ?

I have had great results when I soak in oxiclean by my method. It doesn't hurt any fabric, whites or colors. Whites and colors come out looking bright and new. It takes out most every stain, in an hour to three days. I Don't use the package instructions!

Dissolve 1/2 cup oxiclean powder in some hot water, in a bucket or large bowl. Add enough COLD water so the item can soak. Add the COLD water after the oxiclean is dissolved. Let soak till the stain is gone. Sometimes I put a towel on top to keep the item in the water.

Each day as needed Refresh the oxiclean and water. By draining the water and making a new mixture.

I got hair dye, food stains, mold %26amp; mildew, grass stains, yellowing from age, under arm stains out, also Bleeding from other colors out, just to name a few tough stains that can be gotten out! (remember to soak in cold water).I have washed a red T-shirt which colour bled all over my other clothing. How can I get the stains out ?
You really can't. Once that red dye has bled into the other clothes, it's pretty much permanent. Maybe after years of washing over and over it might fade out. But, your discolored clothing is pretty much ruined (unless you like pink).I have washed a red T-shirt which colour bled all over my other clothing. How can I get the stains out ?
wheh this happens to me I just rewash the clothes with some bleach used for colored clothes and they come out just fine, Sometimes this may take 1-2 washimgs, but it works.
You mean your whites are now pink? Dang, I've tried bleaching the heck out of them pinks. They're just rags now. You could try dying them another color, but watch out for them bleeding again.
put them right back through the wash cycle now, and most will be fixed. those which are not can be re-washed again , if they are white use the regular amount of bleach.too much will ruin them

That's sperm. Don't worry about it. Makes your jacket more special.

I have a roman shade that has a huge stain can i wash it?

    Maybe.

Look for the fibre-content/care tag. It's sewn to the curtain somewhere. (The law requires it.) That should tell you what your shade's made of, and how to clean it.

I'm assuming it's a water-soluble stain, rather one that needs a special cleaning agent.

Even though it's been labelled ';washable';, I would still recommend that you have it dry-cleaned. Washing will likely affect the fabric texture, probably making it limp. Ironing it might be really hard, too.

(But if it would cost more to have it dry-cleaned than it would cost to get a new one, go ahead and wash it - cool wash/rinse, permanent-press cycle; very low temperature permanent-press dryer cycle. Take it out of the dryer immediately, and flap it out quickly, so it doesn't get a chance to wrinkle.)

    Good luck!

I'm going crazy. I can't tell you how many of my white clothes have been ruined. It's an identical mark on many of my clothes. I think it's the washer. It's been going on for months. you got dirt inside the agitator you need to take it apart and find what ever it is inside or under the rim of the washer.

Skidmark could also be a good reason to use TP
The answer about iron being in the water is good. When they flush the water system in my area, our water sometimes turns brown and if we wash clothes in that water, they will be stained brown. The city will always let us know when they plan to do this, so that we don't do our laundry and we run all the brown water out of our household pipes. So get your water source checked.
You can try running the washer with no clothes in it but, a good amount of bleach and powder detergent!
Hi, have your water tested for high amounts of iron. If you have high iron in your water it will make brown or rust colored skid-marks on your clothes. If your water is high in iron you should get a water filter for iron.

  • Is it my Washing Machine staining my clothes?

I live in an apartment, so I do not know the history of the washing machine, however it seems like 1 out of every 5 washes, several articles of clothing are damaged.

I have since become very dilegent about washing white %26amp; colours seprataly, but my latest discovery was that after doing a cycle of whites, I washed my green duvet cover by itself, it came out stained!!! I washed it on a medium temperature.

The stains are always of the same consistancy - a dark, patchy, partly translucent stain.

Could it be from using a detergent that is dark colored?? Or I wondered if the water coming into the washing machine could be pre-strained from another apartments washer??

Thanks in advance! Is it my Washing Machine staining my clothes?
The stain is from your fabric softener. You may be using too much, or you may not be diluting it with enough water. There is a chance that it could be your detergent...but probably your fabric softener. If it is your detergent...it would be from pouring your liquid detergent directly onto your clothes. I always dilute it with water before pouring it into the machine. Is it my Washing Machine staining my clothes?
There is no telling what happens with public washers. I use ammonia to clean them out before I start because you don't know what the person before you has on their clothes. You don't know what they did in those clothes or what their pets did on them, anything could happen and with the morals that some people don't have you could be leaving yourself wide open for Lord knows what.

I pour the ammonia on a rag or towel %26amp; clean the machine out! I don't know if you pray or not but I also do that as I'm cleaning because nothing get past Jesus.

    God Bless

PS: Do your colors in cold water.
Hmm, that's odd. Is your detergent old or a low-cost brand? Are you apt to leaving things in your pockets and forgetting them when you wash (I am, lol), like pens etc? Is the water coming into the apartment consistently clean? it's possble that there might be some kindof gunk buildup on one of the water lines that is either coming in or backwashing from the water-out line. If the drain line is plugged you might be getting some nastiness staying and settling in the machine that accumulates...

I'd put in a work order with the management to have it checked out...

    Edit;

lmao, yeah, pray to Jesus for whiter whites. Forget the war in Iraq or the genocide in Sudan, you need clean clothes dammit!! lolz!!
Put the washing the washing machine on its hottest setting and put inside the drum, not the draw, half a bag a washing soda, available from Wilkinsons, Tesco, Morrisons, for 55p a bag, and run it empty. This will clean any residue powder from the machine. Also pull the draw out completely and clean it in the sink. Check behind it for foul smelling gunge. It will come out with a bit of gentle wriggling.

I never wash anything except whites above 40c.

These things should clean the machine. If it is smelly inside, stick the whole bag of soda in.

Are the door rubbers perished, this could cause marks on your clothes
Should be pretty easy to see by taking your clothes to a laundromat for a couple weeks. If stains still keep happening then it is probably something else.
Check out if there is work being done in the vicinity on the water mains. You should be warned in advance but there are sometimes gliches in the system. If work is being carried out, there may be residue in the incoming water. Worth a thought.
My guess is that you are probably overloading the washer and the clothes are not having enough room to agitate (this happens a lot with comforters because they are almost always too big for non-commercial washers). The detegent and/or fabric softener is getting caught in the folds and this is what is causing the translucent stains.

Also, dryer sheets can cause this in the dryer if the clothes and dryer sheet are put into a hot dryer.
I would use the hottest setting possible for the clothes I want to wash. Then I would use a color safe bleach instead of detergent.

Usually used on metals but you can also spray KBS Rustblast on a concrete surface keeping it wet for 20-30 min, scour with a push broom as needed then rinse with a hose.
Amway used to make a product specifically for cleaning driveways, in fact I believe it was even called ';Driveway Cleaner';.
The rust from your sprinklers is probably iron ore mineral depostis. Here in east Texas it is a big problem and difficult to remove. If you try that acid wash one responder mentioned, be sure and be careful to follow the instructions. Acid is not for the novice user and change cause serious damage to you and your concrete surfacing.
