How to remove detergent/washing powder that stained my shirt?

I used Ariel washing powder to wash a shirt, and one of the little blue particles stained my shirt. How to remove it??How to remove detergent/washing powder that stained my shirt?
The stain will probably wash out after a few washings.

Try adding Oxiclean to your washes.

Also, if the shirt can tolerate hot water, use the Hot water setting to wash it.How to remove detergent/washing powder that stained my shirt?
Pretreat it with this lovely product called folex. Cleans everything from carpets to clothes. They sell it at lowes for $2.50ish? Pretty cheap and does wonders.
Hey Ariel dose not leave any stain on cloth. May be it is something else stain.

Try dry clean for that.

Can you still get a pizza sauce stain out of a white shirt after washing it in a cold wash, but not drying it?

Spray and WashCan you still get a pizza sauce stain out of a white shirt after washing it in a cold wash, but not drying it?
Most likely. Apply shampoo (I use the cheapest I can find, usually Suave) or dishwashing detergent (like Dawn, not dishwasher detergent) to the area, hold for several hours, rewash. You may need some peroxygen or perborate bleach (like Clorox 2 or Snowy or Oxyclean) if it doesn't all come out in the second wash.

The orangey stain from tomato products is a mixture of carotenoids, pigments that are not water soluble, but dissolve quite nicely in non-polar substances like fats, or with a good detergent. Can you still get a pizza sauce stain out of a white shirt after washing it in a cold wash, but not drying it?
Kay is spot on! She forgot to say that behind the tomato and its pigment is the grease from the pizza. That is what is holding some of the stain in. Dishwashing liquid or shampoo may do it but, if not, and BEFORE bleaching, try some 409 or any household grease cutter. Let it sit on the stain and work it in then rewash and continue with Kay's advice.
Hi..i would try hand cleaner like the mechanics use. It is cheap and can be bought at Walmart or Canadian tire. Rub it on, let sit for a half hour, then wash as usual. I use it for all kinds of stains. i washed a quilted baby blanket with grease on it (from my sewing machine) using a pre soak spray. it did not come out so i got out my hand cleaner, put it on and washed it after a half hour and it was spotless when it was done.
You'll need to ';Shout , Shout get it all out. these are the stains we've been telling you about'; LOL (from the song) try treating it with shout, then washing it again and repeating the process until the stain is out. Do not dry until the stain is out.
So long as it hasn't been dried, you can try again - once it's dry, it's ';set for life';..
you need to put clorox on it to remove the stain, and then put it in a wash cycle.
yah, tomatoes are evil that way, and white clothing is flirting with disaster

How much is it to have your Deck Power Washed and Stained?

The price you pay will vary depending on variables such as where you live, how big the deck is and other items. If I were you I would contact a few contractors or handymen in your area.

I would suggest that the cost to clean the deck will be in the range of .40-.55 cents and the cost for staining will likely be in the .75-.85 cent range. The cost of the stain you select will likely affect the cost. Make sure the wood is good and dry before the staining. Can anyone (!!!!!!!) let me know how to get rid of grease stains from clothes that have been washed?

I have tried Vanish etc but the grease spots (from cooking) is still in the material!! HELPCan anyone (!!!!!!!) let me know how to get rid of grease stains from clothes that have been washed?
It will be difficult especially when it has been dried.

    Try this:

    Get Grease Lightning

    and spray on spots.

Let it soak for several minutes and then rub with Dawn dishwashing liquid and hot water.

Let it soak again, and then rinse.

Air dry/line dry, (do not put in the dryer) and see if it is gone.

You may need to do this several times until it comes out.

Grease Lightning has gotten many of our stains out even when it has been dried in.

:-)Can anyone (!!!!!!!) let me know how to get rid of grease stains from clothes that have been washed?
I don't think anyone has suggested this yet, go get some greaseproof paper, lay it on the stain then iron over it with a hot iron, it should soak up any residue grease. Then apply some stain remover before placing in the washing machine and wash as normal.

    Good Luck x
Warm water on the spot, baking soda sprinkled thereon, and an old toothbrush (or fabric against fabric scrubbing motion).

    warm water+baking soda+grease=soap :-)

Baking soda sprinkled on a warm wet cloth or sponge also cleans the greasy stove top like magic.

Rinse with cold water+white vinegar to release soap residue from first wash.

    In Joy!
Hi! Rub dish soap into the stain, then rewash. May have to be done 2 or 3 times. I do this all the time and it always works for me. Good luck! p.s. dishsoap cuts grease.
it might be too late now, but fairy liquid put direct on to the stain asap after the spill and then washed quickly is a good remedy - but now it has dried maybe not! probably not much help really.
Well soak them for 20 minutes and let them sit in the sink with very hot water and color safe bleach.
if you can get OxyClean, try soaking them overnight with that.

How do I get chewing gum out of a nylon dry-weave shirt? Not a new stain... I washed it a couple of times.?

My hubby recently washed a shirt and forgot to remove the gum in his pocket. This is a Nike dry weave shirt and the gum is ground in. Any advise? How do I get chewing gum out of a nylon dry-weave shirt? Not a new stain... I washed it a couple of times.?
Get hold of some WD40 and spray liberally on the chewing gum. Make sure you do this while the garment is on a non porous surface that won't be damaged.

Spray enough on until the fabric is visibly ';wet';. Leave it for a few minutes and the gum will scrub off with a dry cloth. Remove as much as you can and then repeat.

The WD40 shouldn't leave a stain but it may smell slightly. This can be removed by washing.

It might be advisable to test on a hidden area in case it damages the fabric. This should not happen as I have used this on a wool/polyester dinner jacket with no problems. How do I get chewing gum out of a nylon dry-weave shirt? Not a new stain... I washed it a couple of times.?
put the shirt in the freezer overnight and then take it out, gently sratch the gum off with your fingernail.

After washing it, I placed it in the dryer and noticed after it dried that the stain reappeared. Is there any methods for removing it or am I screwed for drying it, setting the stain in? It's an $80 shirt so I was hoping theres something to save it. Thanks.I got ketchup stains on a cotton shirt, wiped it with water right away and pretreated it before washing.?
Make a paste with an ';oxy'; cleaner and let it set for a few days. Rewash but DO NOT put the shirt in the dryer. Let it air dry. Repeat the paste treatment until the stain is gone.

Good Luck! ;)I got ketchup stains on a cotton shirt, wiped it with water right away and pretreated it before washing.?

Why is our washing machine/dryer staining our clothes with grease?

I've been washing clothes and getting ready for school lately, but every time I take my clothes out of the dryer they're coated in Grease stains. Little dot shaped grease stains splattered all over, the machines have never done this before. Can you tell me what is wrong, how to fix it, and if it has anything at all to do with a container of chap stick that got washed and dried recently? Why is our washing machine/dryer staining our clothes with grease?
I had the exact problem with the grease. I don't think it is from the chapstick. My washer was old and not only did I get grease spots on my clothes but I got rust spots also. I tried cleaning it with bleach and all kinds of products but it did not help. I bought a new machine and the grease and rust are gone. Why is our washing machine/dryer staining our clothes with grease?
get some really hot water and bleach

clean the **** out of the inside of both

the washer take the spinner apart it comes off

    just dont break it

the dryer make sure to clean the lent screen

with hot water to after that

rinse it with the hottest water you can stand

let the washer go threw a few washes with hot water a bleach too. that will help if not eliminate your problem
it probally from the chap stick... must be in the machine still.. try to clean it out if you can... or wash some things like towels that you dont care about so it will clean itself out of the machine..
Try running the washing machine on hot with half a cup of bleach and soap powder with nothing in it but that. For the dryer try cleaning it out with a really good household cleaner like an all purpose cleaner with something specifically made to clean stuck on grease. As for the stains a good stain remover like spray and wash should take care of it. Good Luck.
I had this problem recently i found it wasnt my dryer but my washing machine. You need to call an engineer out to get it fixed, you might find its something to do with the door seal/bearings, i cant exactly remember what it was. dont know how much is costs to get it fixed either as mine had an extended warrenty.

    Hope this helps
Maybe it's broken.Call a a person who can fix washing machines.Or maybe the machine is dirty and needs cleaning.
You 'hit the nail on the head' for the 'source' of your grease stains ... you may have to ask your parents to call a 'repair man' to see if s/he knows how to get that 'greasy oil' our of your machines ... also to make them 'aware' that you 'screwed up bigtime' and washed the 'chap stick.' After this 'double check' your pockets before you wash and dry your clothes.
I think you may have some bad slides...the drum that the clothes tumble in is driven on one end and on the door end are two or three inexpensive slides. It could have something to do with the chap stick especially if it melted and soaked up into the pads the tumbler glides on. If you wipe out the dryer when hot and the grease comes back that may be it. I called my friend the Maytag Repairman and he ordered some up pronto...here's a link about the part I'm referring to. Other brands also have slides, or glides...
you answered your own question .The chap stick has mineral oil and wax in it so you washed it than dried it and the wax and mineral oil have melted into your dryer and each time you launder things it spreads it all over your clothes
it probly was the chapstick . it will have washed out the washing machine by now so must be in the dryer . put some old towels or sheets in it and put it on hot for a long time . keep repeating till its all melted away and you have clean stuff coming out . might work , if not you will have to fess up and get it mended . good luck . ps , empty the dust trap each time in case it gets in there

How do I achive a watery, washed out looking stain on unfinished ash?

I have a new, unfinished dresser, made of solid ash. I want to paint or stain it so that it looks like water, I'm planning to paint fish and ocean life on it for my child's room. The grain of the wood is beautiful, I've only ever worked with unfinished pine before and this is so much nicer, I really want the wood to show through. If I prime it before putting the color wash on, won't it cover up the grain? Is there a transparent primer I could use?How do I achive a watery, washed out looking stain on unfinished ash?

  • How to remove a washed in stain?

So i have a white dress shirt with a small dark stain on the collar. i have already tried washing it and it hasn't come off. i have tried

oxy-clean and dabbing a little bleach on to it and still nothing. the stain might be very small but just annoys the hell out of me, so is there anywayto remove it?

on a side note is there anyway to clean the canvas on a pair of black authentic Vans?

thanks so much and happy holidaysHow to remove a washed in stain?
My husband gets his white shirts really gross at work (hes an electrician) I just soak them in bleach water for a while. Sometimes over night and it comes out. I'm not sure what material your shirt is, be careful it could yellow the shirt.

I use cloths and toothbrushes (old ones of course) to clean shoes. I would use a TINY drop of laundry detergent mixed with water. But since they are canvas when they dry they will be stiff and uncomfy till you break them in again. Try not to get the inside wet. I did that with mine and they were never the same. How to remove a washed in stain?

Why is it not advisable to wash hands with soap after it has been stained by concentrated nitric acid?

Are you a chemists? maybe you can answer this...

its for our latest activity in chem lab...thanks!Why is it not advisable to wash hands with soap after it has been stained by concentrated nitric acid?
It's advised to rinse your hands with soap and water if you come in contact with concentrated nitric acid. You'd be in a lot of pain, as nitric acid is extremely corrosive and would react to the moisture in skin.

There could be the implied idea that washing your hands with glycerin soap would make nitroglycerin and blow you up, but making nitroglycerin is a little bit more complicated than that. Why is it not advisable to wash hands with soap after it has been stained by concentrated nitric acid?
I'm not a chemist but I thought Nitric acid was one of the stronger ones. Likely there is something in the chemistry of soap (check out the chemical formulation of soaps) that will react with the residue and create more problems. Check out treatment procedures for acid burns in the meds library.

What is causing stains on colored shirts in the washing machine?

no bleaches usedWhat is causing stains on colored shirts in the washing machine?
It depends on what kind of stain it is. If you have an older machine, it may be rust stains because the finish came off the basket and now it is rusting. This would make small orangy-brown spots on your clothes. I don't know what you do about that except buy a new washer.

I play paintball and i used my car as a barrier, it was shot and now the car is stained and they dont wash off?

My friend bought brass eagle Monster Balls, green fill. the car was shot with 5 different types of paint all different colors. Took the car through a car wash and all colors came off but green. Now the paint is stained on the car and a simple car wash/hand wash or even a power washer wont bring the nasty gel/paint off my car. Any helpI play paintball and i used my car as a barrier, it was shot and now the car is stained and they dont wash off?
Monsterballs, those will stain anything and are becoming banned at most fields.

Try cutting compound and elbow grease.
that is why monsterballs suck, they suck in every way possible.

Why do crayon companies say treating wax stains on clothes by putting dishwashing liquid then washing it?

how does the treatment workWhy do crayon companies say treating wax stains on clothes by putting dishwashing liquid then washing it?
Because dish washing liquid is a enzyme and it usually works on many stains. But I found that if you scrape as much as possible off first, then get you iron and heat to warm not hot. Take a piece of paper towel and fold it, put it under the stain and put a single piece on top of the stain, and iron gently, that will heat the wax and remove it, make sure each time you change the paper towel so as not to get stains anywhere else. it works, Then wash it with your dish washing liquid. Why do crayon companies say treating wax stains on clothes by putting dishwashing liquid then washing it?
It cuts through the wax...think about it!
Dishwashing detergent, among other things, breaks down the grease and oil that you see on a lot of dirty dishes. So it would work on crayon too, given that a lot of crayons have an oil-type base.
About 25 years ago the Fed. gov't removed all phosphates from detergents because of water pollution. The dishwasher companies said their products wouldn't work without them. The Feds said OK. That's why the detergent works so well

To get oil stains off your walls? I would try the Mr. Clean sponge! I love it and it cleans everything!!!How can you get oil stains on your walls just from washing them?
Well, I'm assuming that you are asking how to get oil stains OFF of your walls by washing them. That would depend on what kind of paint you have. If it's semi-gloss paint, then you just spray the wall w/ a cleanser, %26amp; wipe it down, or you can get a bowl of hot/soapy water and wipe it down. The grease should come right off. If it's been on there a while, then you may have to use some elbow grease.
